Earth First! Humboldt

Just got word that SPI has been salvage logging in their holding within Underwood roadless area on the South Fork Trinity River. It was totally unexpected. They may be operating under a salvage logging clause that avoids environmental review. Also, they are highly suspected to be salvage logging other places in that region. There has been an upswing in giant logs being trucked to their sawmill just outside of Arcata. This summer, EF! Humboldt attempted to stop road construction into Underwood with a tree-sit in the path of the proposed road. Sadly, we had to evacuate when lightning strikes set a huge forest fire nearby.
